Sound clips from my gig
By Joel | August 18, 2008
Ok, Friday came and went, and all in all it was an awesome experience. Good people, good drinks, good music, good times. We got kinda ripped with the results, but oh well, such is life. Below are MP3s of 4 of the songs from the set list. Unfortunately 6 of the songs were no good due to a faulty out on the mixing board. Also, it’s a bit hard to hear me in the mix, especially when I get in the upper register on “A Memoriable Day”, but it was mixed for live listening so that means very hot vocals, subdued bass. I did run the tracks through a little EQing to boost the bass a touch and increase the volume levels, and you can certainly hear me gettin my dissonance on at the end of “Horror,” such a fun song to play. If I were to grade myself, I’d say a C, C-. I was nervous and I could hear it come through in some of the songs, I muffed the intro of one song (excuse: for me it’s the most difficult from a technical aspect), and there were a few other mistakes. I am my harshest critic though. Tunes after the break.
Note: all of the following are copyrights of The In.

Pictures will follow soon.
